"CHRISTMAS ON THE ISLAND"

We hope everyone that attended the party enjoyed themselves tremendously. It was truly a blessed day as God held back the rain and brought us many new friends on the day. Everyone chipped to make the day a wonderful event with lots of people bringing sumptous food - the two worth mentioning are Suh Chyi Orange Glazed ham and Daniel/ Yee Yee's Watermelon Basket! Then we have the beautiful performance of the song "Mele Kalikimaka" by Peter & Leann which kick started the night with a bang. Joel, Leann & Jennifer decorated the shed to look like a paradise island while Ruth blessed the children with her yummy good bag. We also have Yee Yee & Daniel leading us in a fun game of Carols Pictionary while Steph hosted the whole party with her joyful flair.

Lots of new friendships were made, and the gospel was also shared throughout the night. I believe many people were blessed that night and have come to see the joy of Christmas a bit more. Above all, we thank God for His presence with us, helping all things go well!

CHRISTMAS 4 KIDS

Eventhough many of us are not volunteering for the event this year, we can still bless this very wonderful event by donating a gift to the children in Inala. However if those of you who would like to volunteer, you can just rock up to the information desk on the day at 7:30am.

Confess : The Bible says that we have all sinned and fell short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9

Repent : “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord” Acts 3:19

Pray : Dear Lord Jesus,I believe You are the Son of God. I believe you died for me on the cross and rose from the dead for me and for my sins. I admit that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. Please forgive me of all the sins I have committed. Come into my heart. I give you my life. I receive You now as my Savior, my Lord, and my God. I am Yours forever, and I will serve You and follow You the rest of my days. Amen!

Relationship : Develop a relationship with God by spending time reading the Bible and praying to God. Attend a Bible-based church and gather with fellow Christians to develop your faith and trust in God.

Well, great things happening for those who bear hope in God. According to Christian Today, in South Africa, a group of missionaries completed a church building for the believers; in Afghanistan, Christians sacrificed their lives for preaching the gospel; and in China millions accepted Christ.

All over the world, God is working among hearts of different people. He is gathering His people. Live in the moment that you have been given, by sharing God's love to the people. We can lead the fearful and the lost to a lasting relationship with their Creator.

People are dying everyday and going to Hell. Christians have a responsibility to reach them with the Gospel. Evangelism is not a spiritual gift, it is a command from God!!

Sometimes sharing our faith can be as simple as asking a friend to church or life group. It’s a great starting point. This week challenge yourself to pray for your unchurched friends or family members. Seek God's miracles in their lives. As you pray and step out of your comfort zone to invite your friends out of faith & love for Christ, God will do the work in them.

Do not let this golden opportunity passes you by! The Church has done what is needed to prepare an avenue for your friends with a series of new-visitor-friendly programs, i.e. performance, multimedia clips, etc, now let US do our part in inviting friends to the Freedom Month Sunday Service this Sunday.

GOD is DOING an amazing work in the city of Brisbane!!!

Last Monday evening during the NG Outreach session at King George Square, 4 funky young guys and girls approached Tim and Anita to ask for prayer and want to follow Jesus! Praise God that night they gave their lives to Christ!

The Monday before that, Simon led an Iranian law student to make a definite choice in putting her faith in Jesus - and her family will is not mind about it! Praise our Mighty God!

God is SERIOUS in His redemption plan in Brisbane! Come and be a part of this!

PRAYER WALK FOR BRISBANE CITY

WHY PRAYER WALK?

Prayer walking is a method of intercessory prayer that involves walking while praying at the location of the prayer journey. It is when we are on the site that we can see better, sense more clearly & be prompted to pray for the different areas of the place or building or venue.

On Monday a group of NG 3 & Eureka members gathered at King George Square for a worship & went out to do prayer-walk for Brisbane city. After 40 minutes of praying & walking at a different direction in the city by 3 teams, we gathered back at King George Square to share what we've heard & prayed for during the walk - and we are all amazed that God spoke about the same heart-cries to each of the teams.

Please join us in interceding the city of Brisbane together:

• Pray for ourselves to be Christians who are rooted in the Love & Truths of God.

• Pray for people who look good on the outside but are broken in the inside that the need for God will arise in them.

• Pray for those who are in addiction to smoking, drinking & working (workaholic) to meet God & allow God to fill their hearts & find solution in Him.

• Pray for those in depression & isolation for God's love to touch them - give discernment to Christians to reach out to them especially because God has them in His heart especially.

• Pray for the government to have godly leaders to rise up whom will seek to open the door for church development, Christian groups or classes, revival campaign & support the growth of Christianity in the land of Brisbane.

• Purity in life especially for the younger generations that they will come to know God at a young age & will not be enslaved by sexuality or materialism but will allow God to use their lives to build the future of the Brisbane generation.

GOD'S FAVOUR IS WITH YOU

Joseph was favored by God despite being hated, rejected, betrayed, mistreated, thrown into a pit, beaten, sold into slavery by his brothers, being falsely accused after being assaulted by someone in authority, and thrown into prison! Joseph's favor took him from the pit, from persecution and from the prison and catapaulted him into the palace!

Favored by the Almighty God, the palace is where Joseph would face those who put him in the pit and persecuted him. It is there that he would be used by God to perpetuate the blessing that would keep these same brothers, that mistreated him, along with his father and the future generations of his people; from being wiped out by famine, poverty, desolation and destruction. Though he'd lost it all, the favor of God in Joseph's life, restored all he'd lost in a much greater and more substantial return!

When we tap into the favour of God, God can do so much in our daily life, more so in our workplace. When we bring God into work, He will shield us with His favour so that the Gospel can be preached, shared and miracles can take place at our very workplace - not by our might, but by the Grace and Favour of God.

EASTER SERVICE

Whatever we do to get the Gospel to a lost and dying world, it must be rooted in prayer to the Lord of the harvest, because God has said: "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it" [Psalm 127:1]. When we do go, God will greatly bless us. His blessings will most assuredly include:

• An increased trust in Him to watch over us and guide us.

• A greater burden for the salvation of sin enslaved souls.

• A sharpened focus on what our priorities in life should be.

• A growing desire for the Lord's return... "Even so, come Lord Jesus" [Rev 22:20]

A SPECIAL VALENTINES' DAY

This Sunday we will be gathering together to learn of the art of love on our church service. There is no better place for doing life together than in God’s church - a place for deep friendships and lasting relationships, a place where we can share life together.

Let us use this as an opportunity to reach out to our family and friends. Please do give your whole-hearted support and believe for God-moments where an encounter with God will occur for the non-believer.
